Turboinštitut is an independent hydro institute, strategically located in Ljubljana, Slovenia, where it offers complete services for small and mini hydro. It also provides full pre-tender support for large hydro projects, assisting hydroelectric power plant owners to assure successful outcomes, as well as to gain efficiency and increased value.
Turboinštitut is unrivaled in its knowledge of hydropower development, design, model testing, turbine refurbishment, pumps optimization, production and use of small water turbines, pumps and ventilators, control and governor equipment and small hydropower equipment engineering. Technical services available include reliable design, model development and testing, fluid flow analyses, study of cavitations, vibrations and the dynamic behavior of hydro-turbine or pump, and site testing.
Turboinštitut is independent—i.e., neither owned nor affiliated with any of the major producers of large hydro machinery. Engagement of an independent institute helps its customers to achieve guaranteed performance for installed hydro plants. The Company has only one independent competitor. Laboratoire de Machines Hydrauliques, École Polytechnique Fédérale de Lausanne, Lausanne, Suisse—a leading research laboratory with the biggest number of independent and competitive model acceptance tests in the world. All other competitors are owned by or directly affiliated with a major equipment manufacturer.
For large hydro installations, Turboinštitut has a record of close cooperation with hydro and related equipment producers and has experience in working with a wide variety of investors and international development agencies.
